but a woman
who fears the Lord is to be praised. ESV
Eek, now it gets down to the dark side
of the woman. We all know how hard it is growing up in our culture
of perfectionism and photo shopped/air brushed beauty. But based on
this verse, I have a feeling it really wasn't that much easier 4000
years ago either. Satan knows a woman's buttons and can manipulate
us with ease if we let him.
I am so
glad that a few verses ago in Proverbs 31:22, we've already
clarified that Woman 31 is well dressed and put together. GOD
doesn't desire for us to be dowdy, sack cloth wearing, ugly women.
But our focus should not be in promoting our “charm” and
“beauty”. Our focus should be on reflecting Christ. Our “looks”
should not be a distraction in either direction from showing the
world what a godly woman looks like. When people look at you,
what/who are they seeing?
